The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Small Business Development Center (SBDC), with support of Motiva, announced an upcoming Get Google-Ready: Creating a Website Customers Can Actually Find Workshop, designed to help local business owners strengthen their digital presence and reach more customers.

The workshop is Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. at the Port Arthur Public Library, 4615 9th Ave. Lunch will be provided for participants who register in advance.

Presenting at the workshop is Dani Nicholson, founder of Lumiere Strategic Marketing.

The session is designed for small business owners and solopreneurs who want their websites to work for them — by showing up where customers are looking. The workshop will cover the essentials of making a website discoverable online, including:

• Why having a consistent brand name matters for search results

• The website basics that help Google (and new AI search tools) understand and recommend your business

• Foundational steps to help you turn your website into a lead-generating tool, not just an online brochure

The next course in the series is “How to Create and optimize your Google Business Profile,” building on the Nov. 19 basics so customers can find and trust your business online.

“This workshop is a great opportunity for small business owners to gain essential digital marketing skills in a way that’s approachable and actionable,” said Dana Espinal, MBA, director of the Port Arthur SBDC. “We’re thrilled to partner with Motiva to provide local entrepreneurs with the tools they need to grow and succeed.”
