Christen Cashen
The Lamar State College Port Arthur Small Business Development Center (SBDC) announced Christine Cashen, award-winning author and internationally renowned motivational speaker, will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 Small Business Symposium, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, at Central Mall in Port Arthur.
“Christine Cashen brings the kind of energy and insight that will inspire and uplift our small business community,” said Dana Espinal, director of the LSCPA SBDC. “Her perspective on resilience, creativity, and the human side of business is exactly what entrepreneurs need in today’s fast-paced world.”
As a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) and Certified Virtual Presenter (CVP), Cashen is among a select group of individuals honored with induction into the National Speakers Association’s CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame.
She is also the author of two award-winning books, “The Good Stuff” and “It’s Your Business,” both of which deliver practical ideas through a humorous lens.
With a background that includes roles as a university admissions officer, corporate trainer, and broadcaster, Cashen holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s in adult education.
In 2016, Cashen was awarded an honorary doctorate from Central Michigan University. Beyond her professional accolades, she is a cancer survivor, wife and mother of two children.
The 2025 Small Business Symposium will feature a full day of programming to educate and energize local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Local, small business owners and managers are invited to attend the symposium for a half day or all-day sessions.
Organizations that serve small businesses such as lenders, service companies and office supply companies are welcome to attend as exhibitors.
The LSCPA SBDC coverage area includes Bridge City, Orange and Vidor municipalities. All Orange County area small businesses are welcome to contact Espinal for more information.
