Last month, Acadian Ambulance recognized EMS personnel for their tireless work ethic and dedication with awards t be given to top honorees this month.
From across the company’s four-state service area, 32 finalists were nominated by their peers for displaying exemplary attitudes and providing excellent patient care. The top winners are selected by a company-wide committee.
Paramedic Andrew Heuler and EMT Joseph Bessard represent the company’s Southeast Texas service area and were finalists for the top honors.
Acadian Ambulance will honor its top Medics of the Year, all regional honorees and its entire medical team at its celebration on Friday, May 9 in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Since joining Acadian three years ago, Heuler has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to both his role and the community he serves, according to Acadian. Within his first year, he earned his Paramedic Field Supervisor (PFS) designation.
Heuler leads the Beaumont Explorer Post, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of EMS professionals. He also serves as an alternate for the Acadian Air Med team and recently took charge of the Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) trainee operations interviews.
According to company officials, Bessard has displayed “exceptional qualities” since he joined Acadian Ambulance.
“His consistent presence, positive attitude, and infectious enthusiasm create a cheerful atmosphere. He is receptive to guidance, takes initiative, and demonstrates composure and compassion in all situations,” they stated. “Joseph’s dedication to patient care, respect for others, and ability to collaborate effectively are outstanding. He is an inspiration to those around him and elevates the standard of patient care.”
Acadian Ambulance has operated in the Southeast Texas region since 2006, when it began serving Orange County. The company has more than 150 employees in the region, which encompasses Orange, Jefferson, Hardin, Newton, Angelina, Liberty, and Chambers counties.
