Joe Aref, a Port Arthur developer, announced in a social media post that he and Sultan Jasani have officially acquired Central Mall in Port Arthur.

“We are thrilled to share that me and Sultan have officially acquired Central Mall! As members of this community, this mall holds a special place in our hearts, and we are committed to making it a vibrant hub for all,” said Aref in a post.

According to Aref, there has been some some activity around the property recently because they are hard at work on major renovations to enhance the space.

“We can’t wait to unveil our plans, which include the introduction of six new large anchor stores by the end of the year,” he noted.

The pair announced Cici’s Pizza will be opening in the former Jason’s Deli space, and Alltitude Trampoline Park will be taking over the old Hobby Lobby space next to Crunch Fitness.

“We invite you to shop at Central Mall and experience all that we have to offer. We’re confident that it will exceed your expectations,” added Aref. “As members of this community, this mall holds a special place in our hearts, and we are committed to making it a vibrant hub for all.”

Aref is also CEO at The Joe Aref Investment & Development Group, owner and CEO at Aref Place LLC, owner and founder at Joe’s Rental Properties and owner at Half Off Furniture Outlet in Beaumont.

According to his LinkedIn account, Sultan Jasani, of Nederland, has been CEO of Campbell Oil Co. for more than 22 years and is co-owner of the Sunshire Group, who has operated multiple convenience stores in Texas and Louisiana for more than 30 years.
