The Port Arthur Industrial Group (PAIG) has established a $25,000 endowed scholarship at Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA).
The gift was presented Sept. 8 by Gary Parsley, PAIG chair and Port Arthur plant manager of Chevron Phillips. Accepting on behalf of the college were President Dr. Betty Reynard; Dr. Melissa Armentor, dean of educational programs; and Dr. Ben Stafford, vice president for workforce training and continuing education.
The scholarship, administered through the LSCPA Foundation, will provide ongoing support for students pursuing higher education at the college.
The contribution marks PAIG’s 25th anniversary and highlights the organization’s stated commitment to education, workforce development and community success.
