Cox promoted to chief information officer

Thomas ‘Kash’ Cox was promoted to chief information officer after more than two decades of commitment to the Lamar State College system and three and a half years with the shared services department.

Cox boasts an Associate’s Degree in Business and Computer Information Systems from Lamar Institute of Technology and three degrees from Lamar University — a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems, Master of Science in Management Information Systems, and Master of Business Administration in Enterprise Resource Planning.

In his time in shared services with Lamar State College Orange, Lamar State College Port Arthur, and Lamar Institute of Technology, he has worked as the assistant vice president of information technology services and chief technology officer.

Springman named executive director of Human Resources

Sherri Springman has been hired as the new executive director of Human Resources across Lamar State College Orange, Lamar Institute of Technology and Lamar State College Port Arthur.

Springman comes to Orange County from Waco, where she worked as the vice president of people services for Heart of Texas Goodwill.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Arts and Science with a focus on criminal justice. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Purdue Global University.

Stovall is new dean of Student Services

Lamar State College’s new Dean of Student Services, Kristen Stovall, stepped into her role with a vision of her goals for supporting students.

Stovall’s background consists of 15 years of working in higher education. Her expertise spans across areas of instruction, academic leadership, workforce development, and student success.

Prior to joining LSCO, Stovall served as the dean of business and STEM at Killgore College. Before that, she was a department chair and instructor at Trinity Valley Community College and an advisor and lecturer at the University of Texas at Tyler.

She boasts a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Pedigo new director of TSUS Polk County Center

Kathryn Pedigo serves as the new director for TSUS Polk County Center, bringing experience and a deep com.

Throughout her career in education, Pedigo has served in a variety of roles, including teacher, counselor, academic advisor, and most recently, College, Career, and Military Readiness Coordinator. In this capacity, she said developed a strong passion for supporting students in their pursuit of post-secondary opportunities. Her expertise includes career and technical education programs, college admission and testing requirements, career assessments, and regional workforce needs attention across the Deep East Texas area. She is an active member of the Texas Counseling Association and the Career & Technical Association of Texas.

Pedigo holds a Principal Certification from Lamar University, a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University.

She is also a licensed professional counselor.
