As with the U.S. numbers a couple of weeks ago, Texas experienced an expected uptick in employment in May. The addition of 237,800 jobs led all states and was by far the largest monthly gain that Texas has ever seen.

The Perryman Report: A modest uptick

The most recent U.S. jobs report brought a gain of 2.5 million jobs in May and a decrease in the unemployment rate from 14.7% to 13.3%. It’s an important positive signal, particularly given that many analysts were anticipating losses of another eight million or more.
