The Board of Regents of the Texas State University System has confirmed Sidney E. Valentine, Ph.D., as president of Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont. Dr. Valentine was named sole finalist for the position last month following a national search. He will assume office Aug. 16.

Lamar State Colleges further reduce tuition

Governor Greg Abbott announced July 7 that he has appointed Sheila Faske and Stephen Lee and reappointed Alan Tinsley to the Texas State University System Board of Regents for terms set to expire on Feb. 1, 2027.
Sheila Faske of Rose City is the owner of American Office Liquidators LLC in Beaumont.
