Chevron, Talos, Carbonvert execute documents for Jefferson County joint venture

Three entities have closed the deal on a highly anticipated joint venture to develop the Bayou Bend CCS offshore carbon and sequestration hub ("CCS") at an approximately 231,000-acre site in Jefferson County, the companies reported May 24.  Chevron U.S.A. Inc.

Talos Energy Inc. announced March 16 that Bayou Bend CCS LLC, Talos's venture with Carbonvert Inc., made plans official with the Texas General Land Office when they executed definitive lease documentation.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) announced Nov. 4 that it will be closing its “Beaumont site” by Feb. 28, 2021, reportedly due to decreased global demand of the products made there and because plant costs exceed expected profits, according to the company.
