City of Nederland announces nonprofit partnership grant program

After being awarded $4.3 million as part of the American Rescue Plan's Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, Nederland City Manager Chris Duque announced Feb. 16, the city is starting a nonprofit partnership grant, the first initiative selected for funding from the award.

According to Duque, funds are available to assist nonprofit organizations that have had a loss in revenue due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as nonprofit organizations that are providing specific services to the community. The first step in the process will require nonprofit organizations to complete a “NOTICE OF INTENT TO PARTICIPATE” form that must be submitted by March 18.

At the March 28 City Council meeting, the city will finalize the program parameters and authorize the acceptance of applications, Duque reports. Any questions regarding this program should call the city manager’s office at (409) 723-1503.
