2025 saw a host of restaurants in the Golden Triangle close their doors, including two longtime establishments at the end of the year.

The Monterey House, 1090 11th St. in Beaumont, closed Dec. 31, 2025, after 62 years in business, according to a social media post. The restaurant, owned by Bob and Pris LeJeune, served a variety of Tex-Mex dishes.

“We are thankful for the friendships we have made along the way with our customers and staff, and hope each of these people will hold fond memories of their time at the Monterey House, as we will hold close the memories of our time with them. The doors may be closing, but the memories made will always stay open,” the post stated.

Robert’s Meat Market, 3720 W. Park Ave. in Orange, also closed its doors after 45 years in business.

Robert’s Restaurant announced Aug. 16, 2025, that it was closing, but the deli and meat market would remain open.

“It is with a heavy heart to tell everyone that as of Dec. 31, 2025, Robert’s Meat Market will close. Robert and Becky are wanting to fully retire. These two people have worked hard for the last 45 years and very well deserve to relax,” according to a statement posted on social media.

Earlier in December 2025, Hamburger Depot, 2895 Texas Ave. in Bridge City, announced its closure through social media after operating for 10 years. Its Beaumont, Lumberton and Nederland locations remain open.

Other restaurant closures in 2025 included Mamma Tia’s Mex-Italian Bistro in April; Panera Bread in June; Taqueria Cotijas in Nederland in August; and Tokyo Steakhouse and Sushi Bar’s Dowlen Road location in October after 30 years.

Tokyo’s Interstate 10 and Port Arthur locations remain open.

“Broke Boyz,” a popular food truck, is expanding into a brick-and-mortar operation. The business, to be called Beaumont Food District, is taking over the former Tokyo Steakhouse location on Dowlen Road.

The Grill at Calder, 6680 Calder Ave., closed in November 2025. A new restaurant, Sultan Mediterranean Grill and Lounge, held a soft opening Dec. 29, 2025, at the former site.

Silsbee Seafood, 720 U.S. 96, announced it would close June 30, 2025. The owners, Thomas Le and Amy Nguyen-Le, also own Triple A Seafood, 110 N. Main St. in Lumberton.
