Small Business Development Center, Cheniere hosting workshop for small businesses: 'Is Your Business Ready for Government Certifications?'

Cheniere, in partnership with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA), will host an essential workshop designed to prepare small businesses for collaboration with local industries. The workshop is Wednesday, March 4 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Port Arthur Public Library, 4615 Ninth Ave., Port Arthur. Register at bit.ly/3NW1XPM
The workshop, titled “Is Your Business Ready for Government Certifications?,” will provide valuable insights and guidance for small business owners looking to expand their operations and secure contracts with larger industry partners through government certification.
Key focus areas of the workshop is navigating procurement processes and certification requirements, meeting government standards and regulatory compliance and real-world success stories and actionable insights from certified businesses. The workshop is especially beneficial for small businesses seeking growth opportunities through government and industrial contracts.
Dana Espinal, MBA, director of the Port Arthur SBDC, said the workshop offers a practical pathway for local businesses.

The LSCPA SBDC service area includes Port Arthur, Groves, Nederland, Port Neches, Bridge City, Orange and Vidor. Small businesses throughout Southeast Texas are encouraged to participate.
The Lamar State College Port Arthur SBDC is a business advising and training center of the University of Houston Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network, serving 32 counties in Southeast Texas. The SBDC program is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network is financed with $3.25 million (46%) in federal funding and $3.8 million (54%) in nonfederal funding.
