Entergy Texas and an affiliate of New Fortress Energy Inc. recently executed an agreement to collaborate on the development of renewable energy and hydrogen infrastructure. The partnership will help accelerate the green hydrogen economy in Southeast Texas. Entergy Texas announced Oct. 19.

Indorama Ventures (IVL) recently announced longtime plant employee Kim Hoyt has been selected as the new site director for the company’s Integrated Oxides and Derivatives (IOD) plant in Port Neches, making her the first female site director in the company’s history.

Indorama, which is located at the former Huntsman facility in Port Neches, will be conducting evacuation drills on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. and Nov. 12 at noon, reports the city of Groves. These are practice drills for the facility.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) announced Nov. 4 that it will be closing its “Beaumont site” by Feb. 28, 2021, reportedly due to decreased global demand of the products made there and because plant costs exceed expected profits, according to the company.
