The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the signing of an economic development Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT).

The MOU represents a deepening of already established economic development ties between the two institutions. The MOU outlines a commitment to work together to strengthen the economic development efforts and broadening of workforce training programs, promote collaboration and a mutually supportive relationship, and foster a culture of innovation to find solutions to our community’s challenges.

“Partnering with Lamar Institute of Technology is a crucial relationship in ensuring the continued growth and success of our community,” said Rebekah Maxwell, chair of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. “This MOU will allow us to leverage our collective resources and expertise to drive economic development and create new opportunities for the people of Beaumont.”

LIT President Dr. Sid Valentine echoed Maxwell’s sentiments.

“Lamar Institute of Technology is excited to collaborate with the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce to further develop and strengthen our region’s workforce. Together, we can ensure that our community remains vibrant and competitive in the years ahead,” stated Valentine.
