The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau brought home multiple state awards for its efforts to make Beaumont a premiere destination for tourists and conventioners.

“The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is proud to be recognized by its peers at the Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (TACVB) Annual Conference this past month for the Destination Excellence Awards,” the bureau stated in a news release announcing the recent recognition.

At the TACVB Annual Conference in South Padre Island, the Beaumont CVB brought home two awards including first place in Leisure Tourism Marketing and second place in Public Relations.

The leisure tourism marketing award went to the Beaumont CVB “Bon Temps” or “Good Times in Beaumont” campaign. With Beaumont’s location next to the Louisiana border, the Beaumont CVB used the phrase in marketing campaigns “Bon Temps Beaumont. Let the Good Times Roll, Y’all!”

At the height of the pandemic, “Good Times Ahead” was used in Beaumont CVB marketing efforts to look forward to the trips visitors could make when visiting Beaumont in the future. Then, moved into “Good Times Ahead, Right Down the Road” when efforts switched to the drivable market. “Good Times” has been used in various ways through advertising, local partnerships, Restaurant Week, and more.

The Beaumont Mural Festival was the reason the Beaumont CVB won the public relations award. The festival was a collaborative event put on by the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau and local business, Pour09 Bar and Rooftop. Sixteen artists were brought in from all over the United States to enhance the mural scene in downtown Beaumont.

Over a four-day period, artists worked on their murals while community members could visit and learn about their techniques, as well as their stories. The festival increased the number of individuals coming downtown to see the work being done, enhanced the visibility of Beaumont through the artists’ personal social channels, and incited media coverage, Tik Toks, and video footage.

“The Beaumont CVB staff continuously works on creating innovative campaigns and promotions to better Beaumont and enhance our visibility throughout the state and country,” said Executive Director, Dean Conwell. “Our team works hard to not only create opportunities for visitors but also to improve the quality of life for those that live in Beaumont and the surrounding areas.”
