The staff of the Ben J. Rogers Regional Visitors Center has announced the center will reopen to the public on Wednesday, Jan. 20. It has been closed since September 2019 due to water intrusion from Tropical Storm Imelda. Repairs and remodeling were recently completed and, according to center staff, “We look forward to welcoming old friends and the travelling public again”

Jefferson County COVID restrictions and mask requirements will be in effect for all visitors and staff. Extra precautions and sanitizing efforts have also been put into place.

The visitors’ center will be open to the public daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. starting Jan. 20. Summer hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and begin on May 30. The meeting rooms for groups are still closed at this time.

“We would like to thank Jefferson County Commissioner’s Court for all their support during this time,” stated center staff.
