DuGood Federal Credit Union is taking extra precautions to ensure customer and employee safety at their financial institutions, shared DuGood President and CEO Jada Kelley on March 13. Kelley wrote a letter to members sharing what measures the credit union is taking and offering suggestions for safety at home.

Kelley wrote the following letter to members:

Dear Valued Member,

As COVID-19 continues to spread, we want to reassure you that we are taking all necessary steps to help protect you and our employees.  We have a COVID-19 Pandemic Plan in place to ensure you will have access to your accounts in the event we have to close any of our branches.

What we are doing

The safety of our staff and our members is always our top priority. We have established employee safety guidelines to minimize any health risks. This includes, but is not limited to: frequent hand washing, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, avoiding high risk travel, and staying home when sick with fever or flu-like symptoms.

Our COVID-19 Pandemic Team has been closely monitoring the impact and is following guidance and recommendations from the following sources: Centers for Disease Control (CDC); Texas Health and Human Services; (and) the World Health Organization (WHO).

We have validated operational technologies and are prepared to handle member needs. If you prefer to limit your exposure, we are offering extended services through our drive-thru. At this time, all branches are open.

What you can do

Be diligent and follow health warnings and best practices recommended by the agencies above.  We encourage all members who are not enrolled in the following services to enroll now.  These remote services will help you manage your finances from home or your mobile device, such as online banking; mobile app; remote deposit; bill pay; (and) e-statements.

Sign up for essential services that will give you quick access to cash and the ability to make purchases, like direct deposit; debit card; (or) credit card.

Beware of fraudulent emails or websites that pretend to offer important COVID-19 information but instead could end up stealing your account numbers or logins.

Stay connected with the credit union by updating your contact information including email and mobile phone number. If you have any questions about these services, don’t hesitate to contact us at (409) 899-3430 or dugood@dugood.org.

Our commitment

We will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions with the well-being of our members and employees in mind.

We will post regular updates as conditions change and additional information becomes available.

We truly value your membership and consider it a privilege to serve you!

Sincerely,

Jada Kelley
