Nederland ISD was recently recognized as a 2019-20 Educational Results Partnership (ERP) Honor Roll District for our high achievement in student success. The ERP Honor Roll program, sponsored by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), is part of a national effort to identify higher-performing schools and districts that are improving student outcomes. Nederland ISD along with only six other Texas ISD’s has been recognized along with all four elementary campuses. Helena Park Elementary, Highland Park Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, and Langham Elementary join close to 3,5000 public schools in the nation to be recognized with this honor.

The 2019-20 ERP Honor Roll utilizes public school student achievement data to identify successful schools and districts. According to Nederland ISD, the Nederland district and schools “stand above others in the state because of our demonstrated ability to get students to grade-level achievement and beyond.” Schools that receive the ERP Honor Roll distinction have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations.

“We are thankful for the hard work of our students and teachers here in Nederland ISD. This recognition is a testament to the sustained focus on academic results and commitment to student success that our school and parent community have shown over the years. I hope our community can join me in congratulating our District and specifically Helena Park, Highland Park, Hillcrest, and Langham Elementary campuses,” said Superintendent Dr. Stuart Kieschnick.

“We are extremely proud of this state recognition and it is an honor that reflects the dedication provided through our teachers' strong daily instruction to create a significant impact on our students' academic growth and performance. It places the focus on meeting the needs of each individual student as we say in NISD...We are Committed to Excellence! Every Student, Every Day,” said Helena Park Principal Charlotte Junot.

Sissy Yeaman, Principal at Highland Park Elementary said, “Highland Park Elementary is super excited to be recognized as an Honor Roll campus through the Educational Results Partnership. Highland Park EL is committed to providing the best quality education for our students. The  wonderful honor identifies the commitment and hard work of our staff, students, and parents. Our students’ success is our number one goal and this award ratifies our efforts. We will continue working hard to maintain a safe and effective learning environment while making certain that all students have the skills needed to ensure success at school and beyond.”

Hillcrest Principal Dr. Kevin Morrison said, “I am super proud and excited for our Hillcrest Family. The teachers, staff, students, and parents work hard every day to ensure the success of our students. This recognition shows that the hard work is paying off!”

Langham Elementary Principal Toby Latiolais said, “We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication consistently demonstrated by the staff, students and families at Langham Elementary. This Honor Roll recognition is further validation that these efforts have been fruitful. Our campus continues to look for ways to further support our students and ensure that we reach their full potential.”
