Entergy Texas is celebrating a prestigious recognition among its leadership, the company reported Nov. 8.

President and CEO of Entergy Texas Eliecer “Eli” Viamontes received the 2022 CEO of the Year award presented by the National Diversity Council. The CEO of the Year award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in their organization while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. National Diversity Council is a nonprofit organization that recognizes leaders who consider diversity as a business imperative.

“We are very excited to recognize Eliecer Viamontes as CEO of the Year for his commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Dennis Kennedy, founder and CEO of the National Diversity Council. “His commitment to people and community is outstanding, and he is truly a servant leader.”

The CEO of the Year award is based on accomplishments as a business leader and as an agent of social, cultural, and racial justice within a company and beyond.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Viamontes. “At Entergy Texas, we are committed to embracing our employees and their cultures, because a diverse and inclusive workforce results in innovation and better decision-making.”

Recipients of this award must be nominated and undergo a special selection process. Nominations are open to chief executive officers, business owners and company presidents. To learn more about the CEO of the Year award or National Diversity Council, visit www.nationaldiversitycouncil.org.
