The city of Port Neches provided residents information and recommendations, including a boil water notice, Aug. 27 following Hurricane Laura’s impact in the early morning hours.

According to the city, “Today the city crews will be removing limbs from our roads to allow access. Crews will return later to pick the piles up. Please place your greenwaste and debris in separate piles. Do not place in ditches or over water meters and fire hydrants.   Crews will be working longer hours and the weekends to remove these piles.

“Sanitation crews plan to return to their normal household collection schedule on Friday.

“Please report any down utility lines or poles to Entergy (800)-995-8030 or www.myentergy.com

“The city is still under a boil water notice. Today the system is being checked as we turned the water back on throughout the City. Water samples are required by TCEQ before the notice can be lifted. When approval is received additional notices will be made in media.”
