Motiva Enterprises announced May 23 the appointment of Jeff Newman as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex (PAMC), effective July 15. Newman succeeds Greg Lucchesi, who will retire after performing this role with distinction since 2015.

ExxonMobil announced Oct. 25 that the National Labor Relations Board has scheduled a vote on whether or not to decertify United Steelworkers (USW) Local 13-243 amid failing contract negotiations. If workers vote to decertify, they will no longer be represented by the Union.

Aug. 24, ExxonMobil in Beaumont reported that the plant experienced a "small debris fire" at the site.  According to the company announcement, the incident occurred at an out-of-service tank and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
