Broussard's appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Broussard’s announced that Jayme (Broussard) Toeppich has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding her father, Jim Broussard.

Jayme continues to serve as Secretary-Treasurer on Broussard’s Board of Directors. She has served the company as General Manager since 2015, overseeing operations of the leadership team and strategic direction of the company. Under her leadership, the company has streamlined internal operations while improving work-life balance amongst team members. Jayme previously served as Director of Human Resources.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Human Resources Development, Jayme completed a Graduate Certificate in Leadership at Rice University in 2016. In addition to her role at Broussard’s, Jayme serves on the board at Shorkey Center.

Blue Broussard, Vice President, has been appointed Director of Special Projects. Blue has most recently led the company’s successful launch of 1701 Barbecue. As Director of Special Projects, Blue will continue to oversee the company’s launch of new business and service lines and support the leadership team in various short-term projects. Blue previously served as a Managing Funeral Director.

A graduate of Sam Houston State University and Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, Blue is a past President of the Southeast Texas Funeral Directors Chapter, and currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer on the state board of Texas Funeral Directors Association.

Jim Broussard will continue in his role as President of the Corporation. Jim has made extensive contributions to the Southeast Texas community through his service to Boys’ Haven, the Rotary Club of Beaumont, BBB Southeast Texas, Beaumont Main Street and the Tyrrell Historical Library. Jim will provide counsel to Broussard’s leadership team and support for the ongoing execution of Broussard’s long-term strategic plan.

James Broussard Sr. will remain as Chairman Emeritus. James served as past president of TFDA and the Texas Funeral Service Commission. He also served as president of the Optimist Club, Beaumont A&M Club, Rotary Club, Tyrrell Historical Library Association, Boys’ Haven of America, Services Unlimited and Beaumont International Seafarers Center. He is a board member of Schlesinger Geriatric Center and Catholic Charities and past president of the Serra Club of Beaumont and District Governor of Serra International. He is also a proud veteran having served in United States Army.

Broussard’s was established by Alexander Broussard in 1889 as A. Broussard Undertaking and Livery and is now in its fifth generation of family leadership.
