Farouk Systems Inc. (FSI), the creators of CHI and Biosilk, announced Sept. 9 that it will donate and distribute $1 million in BioSilk Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer and CHI Hair Care to the city of Port Arthur on Sept. 12 as part of the $4 million donation they announced the previous week to support relief efforts after the devastation that Hurricane Laura left behind.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Laura,” said Dr. Farouk Shami, Founder and Chairman of Farouk Systems Inc. “We are committed to helping our fellow Texans in Port Arthur this Saturday and look forward to announcing a date to help those affected in Beaumont."

The charitable donation of health and beauty products and hand sanitizers from the Houston-based hair care company will help the city of Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bill Bartie and his office respond to the needs of their community and help keep residents safe in the most impacted areas. Products will be distributed on Saturday, Sept. 12, between noon and 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Civic Center, which is located at 3401 Cultural Center Drive in Port Arthur.

Farouk Systems Inc. has contributed well over $1 million worth of Biosilk Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer and CHI Natural Gardens Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer to the cities of Houston, Tomball and Fort Bend County. Hundreds of hair care items and hand sanitizers have also been gifted to health care workers across the United States in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
