Impacting lives and building stronger communities – that’s the heart behind a special initiative created by DuGood Federal Credit Union.

It’s called DuGood By Giving and, after next week, 16 Southeast Texas charities will leave $52,500 stronger and better able to assist those they serve.

During October through December 2019, DuGood members who opened an Advantage Checking or qualifying auto or home equity loan, received $150 cash back, and the credit union donated $150 to a local charity of their choice.

“Giving back is the motivation behind everything we do,” DuGood CEO Jada Kelley said. “We first started DuGood By Giving back in 2009. And despite hurricanes, floods and all the challenges Southeast Texas has faced, it’s amazing to see the program grow over the years.”

Since the initiative’s inception, DuGood-ers have volunteered thousands of community service hours and given back more than $1 million to members and the community.

Their 2019 partner charities include Arc of Greater Beaumont; Boys’ Haven; Community Care Prayer Outreach; East Texas Pregnancy Help Center; Friends Helping Friends; Garth House; Gift of Life Program; Goodwill of Southeast Texas; Hope Women’s Resource Clinic; Humane Society of Southeast Texas; Lakes Area Animal Rescue & Rehab; Meals on Wheels Orange; Rainbow Room; SNIPS; Some Other Place; and the Southeast Texas Food Bank
