Passing the torch: LIT welcomes new president

Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) is holding its Fall 2022 convocation on Wed., Aug. 17. Dr. Lonnie L. Howard will host a “Passing the Torch” event for incoming President Dr. Sidney E. Valentine.

The in-person convocation for LIT faculty and staff will be held at The Downtown Event Centre. Dr. Howard will share some “exciting news” about the future of LIT, and guest speakers will address the crowd.

“Beyond providing faculty and staff training, this event will commemorate our unbelievable past successes of six years while ushering in a new chapter in our college’s leadership,” said Dr. Howard.

The convocation theme is “LIT’s Growth & Excellence Continues.”
