A longtime Silsbee journeyman was honored for his dedication to Entergy, their customers, the communities and above all — safety.

Stephen Davis’ passion, expertise and leadership are just a few of the reasons why he was selected as Entergy Texas’ Saints Lineman of the Game, according to the company’s announcement of the honor.

To celebrate this achievement, Davis was recognized during the Saints vs. Giants game in New Orleans on Dec. 17.

“Stephen’s work ethic, drive and commitment to our customers makes him more than eligible for recognition,” said Cade Sherwin, Davis’ supervisor and utility foreman for the Entergy Texas. “He is well respected by his peers and a great role model and mentor to the next generation of line workers.”

Davis has been entrusted to help keep the lights on in Entergy Texas communities since 2002.

The Warren native serves as a journeyman serviceman, a position that wears many hats and works to build and maintain the electrical grid and relationships with our customers and communities.

Every journeyman is responsible for a specific portion of the company’s service area and, for the last 19 years, Davis has helped provide reliable power for customers in the Silsbee network that includes the cities of Kountze, Lumberton, Woodville, along with Hardin and Tyler Counties and surrounding areas.

“Working at Entergy Texas gives me a sense of pride and stability,” said Davis. “I enjoy helping others, talking with customers and helping to keep the lights on.”
