The Seafarers’ Center of Beaumont is hosting a St. Patrick’s Party on Saturday, March 14, from 6-11 p.m. The Irish-themed event will take place at O’Hearn’s Pub located inside the Clifton Steamboat Complex, 8727 Highway 124 in Beaumont. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the center in their efforts to serve mariners who visit the Port of Beaumont and nearby docks.

A limited number of tickets are available for $35 each or $60 per couple. Admission tickets include live music and a sing-along with the very talented Thomas Cokinos, delicious Irish food, adult beverages, an Irish toast, contests, and a silent auction. A “Lucky Gold Drawing” will be featured at the event at 9 p.m. Raffle tickets for your chance to win gold coins or an Irish gift basket will be sold in advance for $20 each. You do not have to be present at the event to win one of three prizes.

The Seafarers' Center of Beaumont is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is “home away from home” for seafarers visiting the Port of Beaumont and other local docks. Chartered in 1972 as a nonprofit under the laws of the State of Texas, the center has served over 750,000 visiting seafarers. The center exists as the result of a deep desire and concern within the local maritime industry, followed by active support and involvement of the community and local churches, to provide a safe and welcoming recreational and spiritual environment on land for those who have chosen the sea as their livelihood. Working closely with the United States Coast Guard, shipping agencies, and other regulatory arms, the center provides advocacy for all merchant mariners from around the world to ensure that seafarers’ rights and dignity are preserved without regard for interfaith and cultural backgrounds. Chaplains and volunteers assist thousands of mariners each year, offering a hand of friendship and pastoral care. They also provide practical services like gifts from local churches, access to the internet, personal items, calling cards and local transportation.
