The Vidor Rotary Club is collecting funds and food for the Vidor United Christian Care Center for hundreds of families who receive food monthly, reports Rotarian and Vidor Independent School District Director of Community Relations.

“We have partnered with the Vidor Chamber of Commerce, many of whom are also Rotarians,” Andrews shared. “As you know, the Southeast Texas Food Bank is closed for a bit, and that makes it difficult for the Christian Care Center to continue to feed the 600-800 Vidor families who show up monthly for food.”

Andrews asks that anyone who can bring canned goods, Ramen noodles, other non-perishables or cash to one of several collection sites set up in Vidor and Beaumont. The club is collecting items at Vidor City Hall, ReMax, Premier Real Estate and T&T Pharmacy in Vidor and at Express Professionals in Beaumont through Friday, Sept. 18. On Saturday, Sept. 19, the team will be at Market Basket, Walmart and Brookshire Brothers in Vidor from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
