United Way of Beaumont and North Jefferson County is hosting a brand-new fundraiser, Par-Tee-Fore a Purpose, on Friday, Aug. 26, at 5 Under Golf Center in Beaumont. The golf tournament “par-tee” will feature a 9-hole scramble with two tee time options at either 9 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said Aug. 1 that state sales tax revenue totaled $3.88 billion in July, 14.7% more than in July 2021, and the highest monthly collections on record. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July.
