LSCPA Culinary Arts program named best in Texas by online education resource

Everyone knows Southeast Texas is famous for its fantastic foods, from barbecue and boudin to crawfish boils and fajitas. Now the region will also be known for producing some of the state’s top chefs, reports Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA).

Neches FCU hosts 6th Annual Veteran’s Day 5K, raises $3,500

Neches Federal Credit Union announced that they raised $3,500 on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, that will go to support the Wounded Warrior Family Foundation. The funds were raised by way of a 5K, seven-mile bike ride, and one-mile walk/run that the credit union hosted in celebration of veterans.

Workforce Solutions opens Silsbee Education and Career Center in Palm Plaza

  Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas has relocated its Silsbee Career Center to Palm Plaza at 975 Highway 327 in Silsbee to better serve residents of Hardin County and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 9 to celebrate the move.

Lamar Institute of Technology dedicated the Emerson Coldwater Lab Building and Emerson Central Control Center on Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the Petrochemical and Advanced Technology Center (PATC).
