New $29M Amazon last-mile delivery facility coming soon

The city of Beaumont announced March 26 that Amazon plans to open a new last-mile delivery station in the city.

The new delivery station, currently under construction, will be approximately 116,000 square feet and is located at 6001 Walden Road, next to the U.S. Postal Service facility.

The facility will support the final stage of Amazon’s fulfillment process, “enabling faster delivery of everyday items directly to customers throughout the Golden Triangle region.”

“This last-mile facility will allow us to better serve customers in the Golden Triangle,” said Jessica Breaux, senior manager of economic development for Amazon. “We’re grateful for our partnership with the city of Beaumont, the Beaumont Economic Development Foundation and the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, and we look forward to sharing more details about this facility in the future.”

“Amazon choosing Beaumont for this new facility speaks volumes about our city’s strategic location, strong workforce and business-friendly environment,” said Mayor Roy West. “This investment reinforces Beaumont’s role as a regional logistics hub and underscores our commitment to fostering economic growth that benefits our residents.”

City Manager Kenneth Williams emphasized the long-term value of the project for the community.

“This project represents more than a new building; it represents opportunity,” Williams said. “We appreciate Amazon’s collaboration with the city and our local partners, and we look forward to the positive impact this facility will have on the local economy.”

Since 2010, Amazon has reportedly created more than 86,500 full- and part-time jobs in Texas and invested more than $84.3 billion across the state, including infrastructure and employee compensation.

The investments, Amazon announced, have contributed an additional $97.7 billion to the Texas economy and helped create more than 65,000 indirect jobs — from construction and logistics to professional services.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s Architectural Barriers Project permit list, the estimated $29 million Beaumont project has a completion date of Nov. 15.

The project, which was granted a permit in December 2025, includes a new concrete wall panel, single-story drive-through van loading canopy (28,950 square feet), a support office area and a fire pump house.

The tenant is listed as Seefried Properties, and CESO Inc. of Akron, Ohio, is the design firm, according to TDLR records.
