In recognition of American Education Week, a celebration of public education and individuals making a difference in students' lives, the LU College of Education and Human Development is set to host an American Education Week Celebration Luncheon on Nov. 19 at 11:30 a.m. in the Setzer Student Center ballroom. The guest speaker for this year’s luncheon is Forbes education writer and author Natalie Wexler.
Wexler is the author of “The Knowledge Gap: The Hidden Cause of America’s Broken Education System –– And How to Fix It,” co-author of “The Writing Revolution: A Guide to Advancing Thinking Through Writing in All Subjects and Grades,” and senior contributor to the education channel on Forbes.com. Her newsletter “Minding the Gap” focuses on education, cognitive science and fairness.
Wexler’s articles and essays on education and other topics have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, the MIT Technology Review, The American Scholar and other publications. She also has appeared on several TV and radio shows including MSNBC’s Morning Joe and NPR’s On Point and 1A.
