Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center has announced it will reopen to the public on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Normal operating hours each week will be Tues. - Fri. from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and admission is free.

The Texas Alcohol Beverage Commissioner (TABC) has approved Orange County Judge John Gothia’s request for bars to reopen in Orange County, the county announced Oct. 16.

The city of Beaumont announced Aug. 21 that it would be canceling the upcoming Oktoberfest festivities in an effort to keep the public safe and stem the spread of COVID-19. In a news release from Mayor Becky Ames, she explained the city’s decision to cancel the event.
