Nederland city councilman resigns to run for county commissioner

Nederland City Councilman Ward III Emmett Hollier announced March 27 his intent to run for Jefferson County Commissioner Precinct 2. Per state law, he automatically resigned from the Nederland City Council following this announcement, the city reported the day after Hollier's announcement.

Nederland ISD superintendent resigns

Nederland ISD Superintendent, Dr. Robin Perez, has announced her plans to resign at the end of June, the district announced June 11. Dr. Perez served Buna ISD for three years prior to serving the Nederland school district for four years.
