The Lutcher Theater has announced the opening of their 43rd season with “R.E.S.P.E.C.T.,” an electrifying tribute celebrating the legendary Aretha Franklin. The concert will play for one night only on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at lutcher.org.

The Orange County Elections Office has temporarily moved to 106 Border St., inside the Adult Probation Office, due to maintenance issues within its building. The phone number to the office remains the same, (409) 882-7973. Office hours will also remain the same, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m.

Governor appoints Beaumont resident to Public Utility Commission of Texas

Governor Greg Abbott announced Aug. 5 that he had appointed Kathleen Jackson to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) for a term set to expire on September 1, 2027, and on Aug. 9, the Beaumont resident was joined by her son and daughter as she took the oath of office.
