The Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce announced John Comeaux has been named the 2026 Arthur E. Stilwell Award recipient.

The award will be presented at the chamber’s 2026 Annual Banquet on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

The Arthur E. Stilwell Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce. Named after the founder of Port Arthur, the award recognizes an individual whose vision, leadership, and dedication have significantly advanced the economic vitality and quality of life in the Port Arthur area.

“John Comeaux exemplifies what this award is all about,” said Joe Tant, president/CEO of the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce. “His unwavering commitment to our port, our community, his advocacy for local business, and his willingness to step up and lead in times of need have made a lasting impact on Port Arthur. We are honored to recognize his contributions with the Arthur E. Stilwell Award.”

Throughout his career and community involvement, Comeaux has been widely regarded as a champion for Port Arthur’s growth and success, according to Tant.

“His support for local industry, workforce development, and collaborative regional partnerships has helped strengthen the business climate and create new opportunities for residents and employers alike,” he said.

Tant noted the 2026 Annual Banquet will highlight the chamber’s accomplishments over the past year, celebrate key partners, and outline priorities for continued economic and community advancement.

“The presentation of the Arthur E. Stilwell Award to Comeaux will serve as the evening’s signature moment, honoring his legacy of leadership and service,” Tant added.
