Spindletop Center cited for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Spindletop Center for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2024. This is the sixth consecutive year Spindletop Center has been awarded this certificate.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting andcfinancial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and itsmanagement.

The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial storyand motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

“The Financial Services department of Spindletop Center is made up of extremely talented individuals who focus on ensuring accuracy and transparency in all our financial reporting,” said Denise LeBlanc, Spindletop Center’s chief financial officer. “Their efforts support the overall center and the staff who serve our clients, making a positive difference in our communities.”

The GFOA’s  mission is to advance excellence in public finance. The association’s more than 25,000 members, in the United States and Canada, are federal, state/provincial, and include local finance officials involved in planning, financing, and implementing thousands of governmental operations in each of their jurisdictions.
