Gulf Credit Union announced April 20 that it is welcoming a new team member and has promoted two team members to new positions in the company.
Georgetta Carvin will be joining Gulf Credit Union as the Risk Management Director. Georgetta has worked in the financial industry for over 18 years. While employed with the State of Texas Credit Union Department, she discovered a passion for serving disadvantaged, low-income families by educating them on saving, borrowing, credit and budgeting. She has conducted seminars and workshops on financial planning and has a passion for community and volunteering.
Amanda Skinner has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Operations. Amanda has over 16 years of experience in the financial industry, most of which has been at Gulf Credit Union. She has held several positions including Teller, Member Service Representative, Teller Supervisor and Project Manager. Amanda was an integral part of the credit union’s conversion and implementation of the current core operating system.
Veronica Chaney has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Branch Operations. Veronica has over 22 years of experience in the financial industry, with 16 of them at Gulf Credit Union. She graduated from Los Angeles Trade Technical College with Associate Degrees in Computer Information Systems and Liberal Arts. Veronica’s previous positions with Gulf Credit Union include Teller, Member Service Representative, Operations Supervisor and Call Center Manager. She oversees the branches and the after-hour call center and has implemented protocols that have improved efficiency and cost.
