Orange County Commissioners appoint Chamber leader to Spindletop Center Board of Trustees

The Orange County Commissioners Court has appointed Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce President Ida Schossow to fill the Spindletop Center Board of Trustee seat that was vacated by the passing of longtime Spindletop Center board member Gus Harris in October 2021.

Spindletop Center mourns passing of board trustee

Spindletop Center announced Oct. 20 that Gus Harris, a trustee for Spindletop Center since 1980, died Monday, Oct. 18. “I am heartbroken that our long-time board member, Gus Harris, died suddenly,” said Holly Borel, chief executive officer of Spindletop Center.

BBB announces 2021 officers, board members

The Better Business Bureau Serving Southeast Texas (BBB) announced their officers and board for 2021, welcoming some back and others into the organization’s leadership for the first time. Kathryn James, a customer relations officer at Conn’s Home Plus, has been elected 2021 Board Chair.
