The Port of Beaumont, Urban Air and Charlton Pollard Elementary School teamed up to reward students for reaching their advanced reading goals. The team treated more than 200 Charlton Pollard students to a party at Urban Air, about 25% more students than last year.

Port mourns longtime commissioner

The Port of Beaumont announced Oct. 12 that longtime Port Commissioner and former board president Lee E. Smith has died at 79.
Smith, first appointed to represent Ward 3 in 2002, was elected board president on May 21, 2018, becoming the first African American to hold the office.

Beaumont Seafarers' Center raising funds with crawfish, shrimp boil
