The Lamar State College Orange Gators fishing team has reeled in another tournament win, with anglers Trent Buchholz and Grady Doucet placing third in the Abu Garcia College tournament, qualifying them for the national tournament.
The event was held Friday, July 10 at Fort Gibson Lake in Oklahoma. This is the first win for these particular anglers as both Buchholz and Doucet are new to the LSCO Fishing Team, according to information from the college. The team caught five fish with a total weight of 17 pounds and 1 ounce.
Two other sets of teams from LSCO’s club also participated in the tournament. Brett Fregia and Jack Tindel, who have already qualified for the national championship, placed 24; and Jaithen Burns and Kooper Abernathy placed 57.
