Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported that state sales tax revenue totaled $3.84 billion in May, 4.1% more than in May 2022. The majority of May sales tax revenue is based on sales made in April and remitted to the agency in May, the comptroller’s office details.

All but one member of the Beaumont Independent School District (BISD) Board of Trustees voted to move forward with accepting an RFP that would infuse $1.1 million directly into district coffers in exchange for stadium naming rights at the elected officials’ May 18 meeting.
