Broussard’s Mortuary transitions to fifth generation

Jim Broussard, former president of Broussard’s Mortuary, announced the transfer of ownership to the fifth generation of the family, Jayme (Broussard) Toeppich and Blue Broussard III. Both have been associated with the company since completing their education, according to a press release.

Jason’s returns home to launch new remodel, logo

Family, friends and community leaders got a chance to see the remodel and new logo for Jason’s Deli at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Feb. 4 at the Dowlen Road location.Jason’s Deli President Jay Tortorice said the company has opened more than 200 locations in 29 states.

Spindletop Showdown BBQ Cook-off is March 1

The Spindletop Showdown BBQ Cook-off is set for Saturday, March 1 at the Beaumont Event Centre, 900 Crockett St. in Beaumont. Hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Judging is 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

First Security Bank celebrates Sour Lake branch opening

First Security Bank held a grand opening celebration for its Sour Lake branch, located at 185 State Highway 105 East, on Jan. 28.In July 2024, the bank announced its plans for a branch in Sour Lake. The new 1,300 square-foot building has two drive-in lanes and an ATM machine.
