Big Boy No. 4014, the famed Union Pacific steam locomotive built in the 1940s to conquer mountains while carrying equipment in support of World War II, is embarking on a 10-state tour. Big Boy will be on public display Aug. 18 in Beaumont and then make a short whistle-stop in Orange on Aug. 19.

City of Beaumont sets public hearing to discuss FY22 budget

The city of Beaumont invites the public to participate in a discussion about the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2022. The budget includes an additional $6 million in property taxes. A public hearing is set for Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 1:30 p.m. for all interested citizens of the city of Beaumont.

Harmony Public Schools has announced its policy that this school year, healthy meals during breakfast and lunch will be offered every school day to all students at no cost. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
