The 2nd Annual T-Mobile Beaumont Comic Con returns to Ford Park on Nov. 7-8 with Flash Gordon making an appearance at the event. Last year’s show was insanely successful and fun with contests, intricately detailed costumes, and guests from all over southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said Nov. 2 that state sales tax revenue totaled $2.72 billion in October, 3.5% less than in October 2019. The majority of October sales tax revenue is based on sales made in September and remitted to the agency in October.

McFaddin-Ward House to host scavenger hunt

The McFaddin-Ward House (MWH) announced Oct. 20 that it will host a community-wide scavenger hunt, “Our House is Your House: Key Hunt,” Nov. 9-13 with prizes given to the winners. Ten brass skeleton keys will be hidden throughout community locations in Beaumont.
