Rainbow, Veterans bridges reopen

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported the the Rainbow and Veterans bridges that connect Port Arthur to Bridge City have reopened following closures due to Hurricane Laura.
DPS urges motorists to be cautious if they must travel at this time, according to a release at about 10:50 a.m.

Local Legacy Health Clinic closed at 3 p.m. today ahead of Hurricane Laura

Businesses across Southeast Texas are closing doors and, in some cases, boarding up windows, as Hurricane Laura heads to the area as a Category 4 hurricane with winds expected to top 100 mph. Legacy Community Health announced Aug. 26 that it would be closing at 3 p.m. in preparation for the storm.
