Comptroller announces annual, monthly sales tax revenues

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar released totals Sept. 1 for fiscal 2020 state revenues, in addition to announcing monthly state revenues for August.
General Revenue-related revenue for fiscal 2020 totaled $56.98 billion, down 1.5% from fiscal 2019.
All Funds tax collections were $57.

AT&T contributing $30,000 for Hurricane Laura relief in Southeast Texas

AT&T reported Aug. 31 that the company is reaching out to help the Southeast Texas community recover from Hurricane Laura’s impacts by contributing $30,000 to the SETX Civilian Taskforce, an organization focused on providing relief and recovery to those in need following a disaster.

LIT reopening campus Sept. 2

Lamar Institute of Technology has delayed the campus’ reopening date to Wednesday, Sept. 2, from the original date of Monday, Aug. 31, due to the lingering effects of Hurricane Laura on students, faculty and staff, LIT reported Aug. 31.

LSCO cleaning up campus, restoring facilities post-Laura

Hurricane Laura swept through the Lamar State College Orange campus last week damaging facilities and shredding landscaping, but the college reports it is well on its way to recovery with plans to resume classes soon if power is restored in the expected timeframe.
